Playing

My lovely granddaughter Hailey playing at Browns Bay beach recently. I grew up in Torbay which is a nearby suburb and I use to spend ALOT of time at this place so it’s nice she gets to experience it too.

The only bane about Spring at the moment is hayfever allergies that I get regularly every year. This year the main culprit seems to be gorse. There is pollen from them on our cars and I am looking forward to no longer sneezing and having itchy eyes once Summer comes.

Here in my town the local AGFest (similar to a large scale farming show) has been happening yesterday and today. Apparently many of the election parties have been there promoting themselves (as they do). I was amused to hear from one person that our prime minister is apparently as short as I am (I’m 5ft2). I would’ve gone to check it all out but I wasn’t going to pay the $20 for a ticket (bah humbug) as I’m used to similar events in the North Island where you don’t have to pay to get in. It’s a shame that this is now what it is…

Looks like she’s having a wonderful time. I have good memories of being at the beach when I was around her age. Fun times.
