The Amypie Diaries

Photos of my travels around New Zealand and beyond…

Pressed

Last time we were in Nelson in June, we were waiting at traffic lights when I spotted this coffee cafe right next to one of the petrol stations, of course this was back in June at the beginning of Winter which explains why it looks a bit bleak and gray. There are coffee carts all over New Zealand, you see them in just about every town and city. I’m a coffee fan but I had already drank mine that morning on the way up after we left Greymouth.

We are still having bits and pieces of Spring rain here but we are also getting the odd fine sunny day too and it definitely seems to make people more cheerful. I have my eye test today so I can get approval to drive but I think I’m at the point where I need a new pair of prescription glasses, I hate to think how much it is all going to cost.

Linking up with Skywatch Friday, All Seasons and Tom’s Signs.

  2. I just booked a week in NZ last night for the holidays, so this is VERY good to know! Lovely pic and you’ve made me happy! Thanks for joining us at #Allseasons!

  3. We have a small trailer that sells coffee, hot chocolate and tea plus sndwiches and muffins. It is always a crowd lined up. It’s not a tiny as this one though.

  4. What a lovely little caravan for selling coffee. I would have stopped for that, too.
For some reason, I missed the switch to your new blog, but I’m back on board now. Have a nice week.

  5. Coffee carts always seem to brighten up even the grayest winter days.
Hope your eye test goes smoothly and that the new glasses don’t end up costing too much.

  6. Cute colourful coffee cart!

  7. Cute little caravan.

  8. The caravan made into a burger van looked very British then I noticed your from NZ but it sill looks like an British scene

  9. I love that little coffee trailer. I love coffee also and at my age I make myself happy with two cups a day. That first cup of coffee is one of the joys of my life.

  10. I see the same size trailer in Lisbon but it was selling wine 🙂

    Worth a Thousand Words

  11. We are seeing clever little coffee places pop up in Canada too. I don’t drink coffee, but I love a small business, so I’ll find some way to support them.

  12. They do seem to be popping up all over and Nelson uas some excellent ones. We could do with one out here in summer time.

  13. uf, glasses are really expensive and regular insurances cover next to nothing.
I have very strong/high diopter and my glasses cost around 1000 euros. good luck!

  14. That is adorable! I like iced coffees, but with those skies and it being nearly winter at the time, hot might be a good choice.
