Here in New Zealand fish and chips are kind of like a staple, it’s hard to find a shop that sells good crispy fresh takeaways. Apparently the Wellington Sea Market won the award for serving the best fish and chips in 2025 so next time we are up that way we may have to try it.

A land-locked Canadian, I ate A LOT of fish and chips in Scotland and Ireland this summer. (The best ones were in Cupar, Scotland!) You are so lucky!

Mmmmm fish and chips! No matter how much I try at home they’re never as good as those from a genuine fish’n chip shop. You’ll let us know of course when you try those that won the award!
I seem to find it hard to avoid the temptation of fish and chips. Almost always I give in when it’s on the menu.
